(This is an old post that I was writing before Kim went into labor, since then I'm have no idea what's going on outside the confinds of our home... and that ok with me!)
In a very strategic move, Wal-mart grants birth control to it's employees. On first blush, this may seem like a very noble and dare we say it, progressive thing to do. But think again my friends, this is whats really going on.
In October of last year, Wal-mart under pressure begrugingly endorse a voter registration campaign for it's 1.3 milllion employees. As the largest employer in the states, it seems to be a no brainer. Register your employees, give them a couple pointers, and poof... 1.3 million Republican votes. Only one problem, when you treat your employees like shit it's kind of hard to influence them to keep the status quo. They would have been better off just taking the heat.
So if you can only to get them to work for ya when their on the clock, no point in trusting them to produce the next generation of under paid, over work young Republicans when their off the clock. Beside, it's probably cheaper to just give 'um birth control than to organize voter registation.
