Elliott!

Elliott is...

sitting up, army crawling and trying oh so hard to get his legs under his butt to crawl, eating solid food (well semi-solid right? super pureed veggie goodness counts as solid!), laughing hysterically when tickled or at his sister's antics, babbling, having some serious difficulty sleeping, teething, and growing (he was 17 1/2 pounds and 26" long at his 6-month appointment). He is for the most part a pretty easy going, incredibly happy baby. He smiles much of the time and is easy to make laugh. Recently, as he's become more aware of the exciting and lively world around him he has been making his desires more clear. He's a baby who knows what he wants. He wants to join in on the eating action at the dinner table. No more of this bystander at the kitchen table stuff, "LET ME EAT" he cries. He wants to see the action; forget snuggling in on my shoulder when he could be facing forward and learning or being entertained by big kids. And he surely needs practice moving on the floor and exploring all of Addy's little toys mouthing everything in sight. He's a sweet one this little guy.

It's hard not to always talk about Elliott in terms of what I remember about Addy's development. I know to be aware of this especially as he grows older, but it's important to practice now. He's his own being and deserves to be recognized and honored in that way.

I can't resist....anyone see those Reynolds' ears?
