Listen up recruits! Those of you who are expecting or expecting to be expecting put down those silly baby books and start clean house in your mental music database. Sound like a relatively non-essential task when there's so much to do, think again. The other day while rehabbing Addy's body waste catch-basin (diaper), we found ourselves back in fifth grade singing NKOTB's "Step by Step" (felt kind of weird being fifth graders with a baby...). For those of you who don't know this song, you're better off. For those of you who do, we hang our heads in shame. With increasing frequency, we recall song lyrics we haven't heard in 15 years and stumble over the ones from the song we just listened to.
It has been comforting, though, to remind yourself that when changing a massive blowout or bathing a wailing babe that Step One is "We can have lots of fun!"
