Sweetness

Addy's been busy growing tall and absorbing everything she sees and hears. She's been super sweet lately about my growing belly interested in touching, hugging, kissing, singing to it. Today our midwife let Addy play with her stethoscope and Addy promptly went around to all three of us (our midwife, Jason, and me) to listen to our bellies! She says there's a baby in there, but I'm not sure she quite understands what will happen when this baby belly turns into a little human that cries, and nurses, and asks for our attention, too. We're planning for a whole cadre of help once the baby is born to give special attention to the big sister and to give us time to do the same! In the meantime we're enjoying watching Addy play mama, nursing anything from her own baby doll to her stuffed animals, to a frog magnet from the fridge and walking just about the same variety in her little stroller.

She's also been singing bits and pieces of songs lately. She'll spontaneously bust out: "Happy and know it, clap clap" (If you're happy and you know it clap your hands) while running around the house bouncing and clapping with a huge smile on her face. And she too has developed the contagious Ann Arbor crush on Joe Reilly. If you haven't heard his kid's album, Children of the Earth, you should check it out!

There are challenges, too. She has arrived at an intense "I want" phase and let me tell you saying "I want" just once or in a normal voice is not adequate for a toddler!
"Addy do it" is another common phrase, as is, "all done" indicating to us when we're all done doing something, like talking on the phone or talking to each other! She really can't stand adult conversation. I guess I don't blame her.

We're heading into the homestretch here, at 32 weeks, we only have two months (maybe less) to go before we have a 2 year old and a newborn! We're excited and nervous. We'll keep you posted.
