our bountiful harvest

This year we grew winter squash and tomatoes. We wanted to plant veggies that we wouldn't have to worry too much about in terms of more than watering and weeding every handful of weeks figuring our lives were busy and crazy enough this year. We didn't do too bad despite squash beetles nibbling on our young plants early on and the blight that caused to throw away many, many green tomatoes. My grandpa used to grow amazing zucchini and gigantic tomatoes, larger than our heads and he'd photograph my sister and me with these unusually large or long or twisty veggies. So, in honor of my nonno, here is a glimpse of our bountiful harvest this year.
