Happy Birthday Addy!

Today (ok well last week, I started this post before her birthday!), Addy turned 4!!!!! She amazes us each day with her growth. Adeline is a sweet, strong, spirited, loving, energetic girl. Her spirit can fill up the room with amazing happiness, calmness, and intensity.

Addy continues to be on the tall side, 44 inches tall, size 11 feet, 5t clothes. She is athletic and strong, loves climbing and jumping, running and biking (though not this time of year!) and is slowly warming up to snow play! She loves to pretend play, mostly family situations or doctor. We go to the 'hospital' a lot to see Dr. Addy for our ailments! It's super sweet when Elliott joins in and it works out or when she is with friends and they all agree how to pretend. Some of the biggest conflicts arise when they can't agree on who's mommy and who's baby. She travels a lot too, mostly to Chicago or Africa. Addy enjoys being read to and looking at books. She has started to 'read' to us stories that she has memorized or ones where she can use the pictures for help. And in the last week she has, on her own, been writing her name. The 'y' is still a little tricky, sometimes upside down and usually way off to the side, but it's clearly her name, which feels like a pretty big deal! Addy likes to be social but also likes and needs some down time. And she loves to dance and sing and play music. Lately she's been making up her own tunes which I need to record because they are priceless!

Each day, despite the number of times I am frustrated and yell, I am thankful for Adeline. She has brought to our lives, and to our community, a feisty, love filled energy that I hope we can help grow into a strong, confident young girl! And of course we can't do it without you. We are thankful for the tremendous community that surround and support and love our kids from close by and afar.

Addy received some mighty generous gifts this year including two mighty creative and sweet handmade fairy gifts. To add to her fairy door in her room are a fairy mobile (thanks Zia) so the fairies can freely fly around and guard over the small treasure box (Addy immediately placed a small picture of her cousins in here!)hanging below them while resting on their toadstools .

And a fairy house complete with quilts and pillows (thanks Anj) so the fairies can rest comfortably.

Addy has been asking for a robe. She's been swiping mine for a while and so finally she has one of her own.
Many an umbrella have been broken being used as props so Addy can BE Mary Poppins. Addy promises this one will only be used for rainy days, not for flying around the house with Michael (Elliott) and Jane (me).

It was beach week at school this week and on her birthday it was wear your swim suit to school day!
